Desiree and Phoenix got BAPTIZED!!!!! Desiree was so nervous. She said "just dunk me already". so we did! Said a prayer and had the baptism. 20 mins later we started a full program for Phoenix with talks and everything. We're showing them how to do Family Home Evening tonight. :)
Funny Stuff: We saved up 11 weeks of water bottles.... stacked them in the door way... and then ran right through them! it was great fun :)
Transfers are today.. but we're all staying here! Sister Kellar is pretty new to the area and Sister Bair still hasn't gotten her visa.
It's really been a slow week. Wednesday was taken completely up by a zone conference. One of the Seventy, Elder Snow and his wife, came to instruct us. it was good. just a bit long.
I'm singing for the whole mission on Wednesday at the Christmas party. It's so good to sing again... but i'm also so nervous! I know it sounds okay. i'm just nervous having everyone looking at me. maybe i'll look above my music this time.
We went tracting one night with a Christmas message to share. No one would let us in. not even the one with the huge santa in front! or the one with the german decorations! The last house we tried, she yelled through the door asking who it is. That usually doesn't turn out very well. So we sang We wish you a merry Christmas. that's when she turned her light on... but she didn't open the door. So we sang Silent Night. She opened the door and sang with us. I introduced ourselves and all my nerves were gone that I get from tracting. She said that her husband was sick and now wasn't a good time. But we heard her husband say "tell them to come back". We're going to try them again this next week. It was just so nice to have a positive experience knocking on doors. I wish we could carol year round. that's something I could do!
We're making some progress with the ward... There's a lot of lawyers in this ward if that gives you any idea of what kind of stuff we're working with. hahaha. They're great. The ward has a long way to go so that their efforts are coordinated with everyone else in the ward. We're working on it. Our ward mission leader said we were his favorite missionaries. haha. I just hope that what we're doing here will last longer than the time we've been here... and that it'll be a good influence.
Not really sure what else happened this last week. I just want it to be Christmas so I can talk with y'all!
Love you!
Sister Cornelsen
