Saturday morning. College student. You'd think I would have slept in 'til 2pm. I probably would have. But today I went with my friend, Leah, to the temple.
Temples are literally houses of the Lord. It's a place of worship for worthy members of the church. We also make promises with God in the temple. It's a sacred place. Some people think it's super secret because not everybody can go inside. But it's only limited because you need to be prepared to make those promises with God, or covenants, and to learn all that is available to learn.
The temple is a place of learning. Today I went with a couple of questions in mind about my near future, like whether it's wise to work this next semester and that sort of thing. I was wondering why I wasn't finding anything I loved and why my class schedule just wasn't working out. As I was praying and contemplating the scripture came to mind that says, "Peace, Be still." It's like "Hey, calm down. I'm here. The right thing will come. Be patient."
I left the temple feeling happier, lighter, and more optimistic than usual. I kept telling Leah, "Life is good... like, really! Life is really good!!!" She laughed for a while. :)
